Making the Most of Our Meetings
What Are CASSP Meetings?
We coordinate “CASSP Meetings” with Mental Health providers, School Districts, Mental Health/Intellectual Disability (MH/ID), Juvenile Probation, Drug and Alcohol, Children and Youth Services, the Managed Care Organization, and any other service involved with the child/adolescent.
CASSP Meetings bring together professionals from child-servicing agencies in order to empower families, prevent higher levels of care, identify community resources, collaborate, and overcome barriers.
How Do I Prepare for a CASSP Meeting?
Be prepared to bring necessary documents, for example:
Mental Health Evaluations
Custody Agreements / Court Orders
School Reports (i.e. IEP, Behavioral Reports)
Any current medications (if prescribed), and treating physicians/doctors/providers
Any other necessary information pertaining to child
Be prepared to discuss current and past services
Review child’s current/prior strengths, barriers or presenting challenges
Should a trauma history exist, it may be appropriate for review during the discussion in assessing services
Bring a willingness to "think outside the box," advocate, have a positive attitude, and voice suggestions for creative solutions
Please Note: Referrals are encouraged to be completed with the CASSP Coordinator, but may also be completed by an outside organization or family member.
To set up an appointment, please contact our CASSP Coordinator, Kelly Gordon.
